Dr. Ravi Gupta is a leading interventional cardiologist in India, practicing at Wockhardt Hospital, South Mumbai, where he heads the cardiology department. He graduated from SMS Medical College, Jaipur, in 1989 and completed his post-graduation at RNT Medical College, Udaipur. In 1999, he joined the prestigious Escorts Heart Institute in New Delhi, where he received his cardiology training and spent almost 15 years.
Dr. Gupta further specialized in peripheral interventions at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, and trained in TAVI in Germany. With over 35 years of medical practice and 25 years in interventional cardiology, he has performed more than 10,000 coronary angioplasties, including complex cases like Left Main, CTO, bifurcation, and trifurcation cases, all with minimal complication rates.
Additionally, he has carried out over 3,000 peripheral angioplasties, managing even the most challenging cases. Integral to the diabetic and non-healing ulcer care department at Wockhardt Hospital, Dr. Gupta is proficient in various cardiac procedures, including pacemakers, AICD, CRT, TAVI, and device closures of ASD, VSD, and PDA.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the Society of Cardiological Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). Recognized as the best young cardiologist in India in 2009 and 2011, he received the prestigious Rajasthan Gaurav Award in 2016. Dr. Gupta has multiple publications in national and international journals and is also a national-level artist, having published a book on medical humor titled “Mad Scene.”
